Filter Refurbishment
It is a common problem in older pools where filtration plants are installed and due to access restrictions are unable to be replaced with carrying out major construction to the area and refurbishment is the only option.
Sterling offer a complete package for the refurbishment of filters our services include the removal of existing media by vacuum tanker, shot blasting and relining the internal surfaces of the filter vessels, the new lining uses the Corroless solvent free 3-coat epoxy paint system.
We can also replace existing lateral and nozzle plates system and header pipe work, and the installation of new manways to comply with current confined space entry.
Where multiple swimming pool filters are to be refurbished, this can take place in stages, allowing the pool to continuing operation whilst the refurbishment takes place.
Media Replacement
We offer media removal services with vacuum tanker as this is the quickest and cleanest way of removing old media from filter vessels, using a tanker also lowers the shutdown time of your swimming pool.
All redundant filter media is be disposed off site to registered landfill sites only in accordance with current legislation. Our price allows for disposal costs.
The filters are manually charged with the correct quantities of selected grades of Leighton Buzzard silica sand, which shall be limestone and clay free.
New media is provided with QA documentation and confirmation of source as required. The total bed depth in the filter will be as per manufacturers guidelines and include 16/30-grade sand and gravel.
Delivery of media to site will be in 25 kg bags on pallets in accordance with current EEC manual handling regulations / guidelines
ECO-GLASS-FILTER-MEDIA
ECO-GLASS-FILTER-MEDIA is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional silica sand. The media is made from glass recycled in the UK and therefore doesn’t involve the intrusive mining and use of a scarce resource. Going “green” however is no longer cost prohibitive and EGFM is comparable to the price of silica sand whilst improving performance and conserving natural resources

One advantage of using DesoPur® is that all of the filter vessel and underdrain pipework is de contaminated and disinfected - not just the media.
